Holbeach United’s hopes of finishing in the top ten of the UCL Premier Division now rely on taking points in both of their Easter fixtures.
That’s the view of boss Glen Maddison, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Deeping Rangers (3pm) and season finale with Wisbech Town at Carter’s Park on Monday (3pm).
Maddison had hoped his side would get something at Wellingborough on Tuesday, but now admits his side are up against it after the 2-1 loss.
He said: “It looks like we’re going to need to get results in both games. I’d hoped we would have tied a top ten place up now.
“Deeping will be tough, they are going for a top three finish.
“Wisbech will want revenge for last Saturday too, so we couldn’t really have had it much tougher if I’m honest.”
Striker Tommy Treacher and skipper Matt Warfield both miss Saturday’s Deeping derby. That’s because Treacher is getting married, with Warfield his best man.
Defender Max Mattless should return to the squad though, with Maddison having no other selection concerns.
