Police link Spalding burglary and attempted break-ins

Police are investigating after a burglary at a Spalding sandwich shop and attempted break-ins at two other town centre businesses over the weekend.

Damage was caused at Daisies flower shop in the Crescent during Friday night when burglars attempted but failed to get inside.

Also during Friday night, there was an attempted break-in at J F Inkley’s in Vine Street, but again no entry was gained.

But burglars did manage to get inside Rumblings on Saturday morning, although they left empty handed.

Community Policing Inspector Jim Tyner said: “At this time, we are treating these three incidents as linked.  Two men were disturbed at Rumblings at 6:20am on Saturday morning and we are keen to hear from any witnesses who may have seen them flee the scene.”

The suspects are described as two white men in their early 20s, both with English accents. One was wearing a black tracksuit, the other a grey tracksuit.
