Machinery fault led to Surfleet workshop fire

Five fire crews attended a workshop on fire near to the A16 at Surfleet last night (Thursday, August 18).

It was reported just before 6pm last night.

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, said: ”Spalding, Donington, Kirton, Holbeach and Boston attended reports of a outbuilding on fire off the A16, Surfleet.

“Fire damage to metal framed workshop and contents extinguished using 6 breathing apparatus, COBRA, 4 hose reel jets, 2 main jets thermal imagaging cameras, 2 ladders and sand was used to contain water run off and approximately 200 litres of liquid fertiliser. Caused by a fault on small machinery within the workshop.”
