Long Sutton and District Civic Society attracted more than 250 visitors to its exhibition at the Royal British Legion Hall, commemorating WW1.

The service records of men named on our local war memorials were displayed along with the histories of many survivors of the war with a local connection.

The exhibition of photographs was augmented by displays of militaria of the period provided by local collectors and of work by local primary schools remembering those who played their part in the conflict.

A presentation of a plaque commemorating the wartime service of Nikolai Poliakof OBE (Coco The Clown) to the British Legion, was made by his grandaughter Mina Houssain, during the event.
