Broad musical talents at Methodist Church

South Holland Concerts are returning this weekend bringing yet more top musicians to the area.

Moldovan violinist Ionel Manciu and pianist Kaoru Wada are at Broad Street Methodist Church this Sunday (February 27) from 3pm.

Together the pair will perform, Beethoven’s violin sonata number five ‘Spring’, Profokiev’s violin sonata number one and Cezar Franck’s violin sonata.

Ionel has been performing in public since the age of ten as soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player, and he has gained numerous awards.

Kaoru, originally from Japan but now based in London, has a successful career as pianist, accompanist and teacher at Eton College.

A spokesman for South Holland Concerts, said: “Do not miss this opportunity to experience great music in Spalding.

“The concert is supported by the Countess of Munster Recital Scheme, which gives concert opportunities for particularly talented musicians at an early stage in the careers.

“We have benefited hugely from this support over the years, and a number of those who have played for us in Spalding have achieved fame subsequently.”

Tickets cost £14 and are available in advance from Bookmark in The Crescent and on the door.
Entry is free for children and full time students.
