Traffic chaos in Spalding amid reports of railway barriers staying down

Railway crossing barriers being stuck down are being blamed for traffic issues across Spalding this afternoon (Friday, February 11).

People on social media have reported being stuck in their vehicles for more than an hour.

Bus operator Brylaine has posted its services are having trouble getting in and out of Spalding and said that the barrier being down is the issue.

Local schools have also issued guidance due to issues with pupils getting home.

It’s not clear if it’s just one or more railway barriers that are affected.

The Voice has contacted Network Rail for a comment.
