A Spalding Institution is to open up its doors every week.
The Spalding Gentlemen’s Society is to open the doors to its Broad Street based collection every Wednesday from 11am to 1pm.
It’s also looking to open up for a spell on Sundays at some point in 2022.
SGS volunteers will be present at the Transported Stall in Spalding Market Place each month, the next dates being Saturday and February 12.
Meanwhile the society’s Winter Lecture Programme is still scheduled to continue with the next lecture tomorrow (Friday).
Dr Simon Sleight of Kings College, London and a former Spalding Grammar School pupil will be speaking on ‘Deep History Down Under’, an introduction to Australian history from Pangaea to Federation.
Lectures are held at the Methodist Church in Broad Street. Lectures are open to all and commence at 7.30pm with an admission fee of £3.
A spokesman for the society, said: “Given that Covid restrictions are again developing, prospective visitors or lecture attendees are advised to check the SGS website at www.sgsoc.org or email [email protected] for any updates to scheduled events.
“SGS ask that only people who are fully vaccinated or have a recent clear Covid test should attend.
“Please note that new government rules require that face masks or a visor are worn in museums, if not exempted.”
