PDFL round-up: Rivals play out exciting draw as Eaton earns Tydd a point

South Holland rivals Tydd and Moulton Harrox Reserves battled out an entertaining 2-2 draw in ChromaSport PDFL Division One on Saturday.

A John Ball penalty and a Martin Sandall strike had Kev Nottingham’s Harrox 2-1 up at the break, with Edwin Pentney getting the Tydd reply on the half hour.

However, regular goal-getter Matt Eaton levelled things up with 15 minutes left as both sides took a share of the spoils to keep Harrox top and Tydd third.

In the same division, Pinchbeck United Reserves suffered a 6-2 home defeat against Wisbech Town Reserves as Kieran Hamilton helped himself to four goals.

It was even worse for Crowland Town Reserves, as they were thumped 11-0 at home against Warboys Town.
Jake Thornton (4) and Dan Moulds (3) did most of the damage.

Up in the Premier Division, Holbeach United Reserves kept their impressive season going with a 4-2 victory at Stamford Belvedere.

Kyle Compton, Charlie Ford, Kieron McConnell and Fenn Storey grabbed the goals for the Tigers, who are fifth after three wins from five.

Also in the top tier, third-placed Crowland Town drew 3-3 at Stilton United.

At the other end of the table, Long Sutton Athletic are one place off the bottom after suffering a 6-1 home tonking against Oundle Town.

Ryan Brothwell got the sole goal for the Magpies, while Nathan Rudman helped himself to a hat-trick for the visitors.

Down in Division Two, Holbeach United Sports suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat at Farcet United and slipped to ninth in the table.

It was also 3-2 as Long Sutton Athletic Reserves were beaten at FC Hampton.

Jacob Foster and Liam Rumsey were on the mark for Sutton’s second string.

Down in Division Four, Sutton Bridge United remain top with a 100 per cent record after four games following their 4-1 win at Orton Rangers Reserves.
