Generous donation to project

A new community project led by the Catholic Community in South Holland has received more support from a local self-employed Spalding resident.

Local gardener Luke Britton, who has recently set up his own garden maintenance company Perfect Gardens, has donated £200 to Project St Thomas.

It aims to provide a Community Café facility and provide Changing Places facilities for those who require them.

Luke said: “When I heard about the café project, I immediately wanted to help.

“This is a very ambitious project which I think will be a great and much needed community asset; for this town and district.”

Fr. Jim Burke said: “I am very grateful to Luke. His donation came as a complete surprise.

“Word is getting out there that we have got ourselves a serious project on our hands here, that we hope will benefit the people of this area.”

The project has appointed a full time project manager in Lisa Barwell.

“Lisa has vast experience of working in the Third Sector and has excellent local knowledge, having previously worked as the CEO of Citizens Advice in South Lincolnshire for a number of years,” Fr Jim continued.
