Shop idea to help Holbeach businesses

A councillor is looking to boost businesses in her town with monthly Flash Shop Days.

Coun Tracey Carter came up with the idea of promoting a shop every month and then urging people to visit the business on a certain day.

The first Flash Shop Day in June brought in 107 visitors to Funky Dora’s and Coun Carter said the event had led to 90 people purchasing.

And today (Thursday) it’s returning with The Fabric Fae as the centrepiece.

Coun Carter has been providing more information on each shop on her Holbeach Local Facebook page.

She said: “The more they do the better.

“At least half of the 107 people had said they’d never been in Funky Dora’s before.

“Now it’s about opening up the attention to others.

“It’s just a small thing to help boost Holbeach’s businesses.”

With regards to the latest vent, she said: “We want to achieve the same again, and with the public’s help we can do – by getting involved and supporting the fabulous Fabric Fae.

“This business is a gem in the town, offering classes and sessions to help people in their crafting journey, developing lots of new skills, along with all the products they also sell.

“We can learn more about the business and we can then be part of the second flash shop day and join in by visiting, and hopefully purchasing too.

“As usual, there will be an offer available for the day too.”
