  • Lincolnshire’s hopes of reaching the quarter-finals of the National Counties Knockout Trophy were ended when they lost their final group match by the narrow margin of seven runs against Cambridgeshire at Grantham.

Batting first, Cambridgeshire lost their last four wickets for only five runs as Lincs bowled them out for 239 in 47.5 overs.

Mark Footitt (3-34) and Curtis Free (3-49) were Lincolnshire’s most successful bowlers.

Sam Johnson (57 – two fours and two sixes) and Jordan Cook (57 – two fours and three sixes) starred in the reply, but a slow start left them just short on 232 with eight balls remaining.
