LETTERS – Could put residents’ at risk

I write with regard to your recent article in relation to the concerning COVID outbreak in Ashwood Nursing Home, Spalding, which had previously to my surprise gone unreported in local news.

As a family member of an infected resident I aware from reliable sources that on Monday, October 19 following a positive test on a visiting carer, ten residents and nine staff members also tested positive.

During the following week of testing this had increased to 19 residents and 18 staff. This number continued to escalate. Another seven positive cases identified on November 4.

The families of residents have received no personal or defined correspondence from Country Court since the outbreak was identified.

The staffing levels from the start of the outbreak and for sometime after has been very low on quite a number of occasions, this could have compromised care and put the health of the residents at risk.
