LETTERS – Objection over bank closure

My wife and I herewith register our absolute objection to the proposed closure of the Long Sutton Branch of TSB.

This is the last remaining bank branch in the town, and would be greatly missed by many customers, particularly the elderly, local businesses, and market traders.

A visit to the nearest branch of TSB at King’s Lynn would be a tremendous imposition to local people, particularly for those who don’t own any personal transport (apart from the bus journey, the bus station is at the other end of the town).

We have both been loyal customers, supporting the bank through its split from Lloyds TSB, and particularly during their very difficult time when they recently suffered devastating IT problems, many customers closing their accounts.

Not everyone uses internet banking, and a local bank is a necessity to many of the populace.

I urge the bank to reconsider their proposed decision, and to continue to give their accustomed excellent service in Long Sutton.
