Charity workers deserve recognition

Electrical specialists Hughes are delighted to be bringing a bit of spark to the Pride of South Holland Awards.

The firm is sponsoring the charity worker award.

Awards organiser Jan Whitbourn said: “Hughes are honoured and delighted to be able to support this year’s South Holland Pride Awards.

“The firm has been involved since its conception and feels the charity worker section fits well in its community and social awareness responsibility.

“We all know how the unsung heroes of charity workers are the backbone of many charitable organisations.

“These people who provide a service to raise funds for their selected charity.

“They are committed to helping make a difference, and this year will see it proved more so, with the uncertain times we are in we are all going to have to rely to some extent, from this core of workers.

“In previous years we’ve seen some heart-warming examples of individuals and groups that have worked tirelessly within our own community, a community that is now working and assisting each other.

“Hughes has its own heritage going back nearly 100 years, a family-owned business committed to excellent service, this gives us a unique look on how we can all integrate and assist not only our customers, staff and community but rewarding those that do.

“Let’s get those nomination forms filled in and give those that deserve a small token of our appreciation.”
