Cooke to captain Spalding RFC as the prepare for life in Midlands Three East (North)

Spalding RFC are back in training ahead of their new Midlands Three East (North) campaign, which gets under way at Belper on September 2.

Having dropped two levels in three seasons, there are some new rivals for Town this time around – with the most notable fixtures being against Sleaford on November 25 and March 24.

The Elephants will be captained by Richard Cooke this season. He has stepped up to the first team, having led the Nomads last term.

Ash Piccaver and Jason Steels will both act as his vice captains, while George Reid will remain on as coach.

Training is currently taking place on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7pm-8.30pm) at the new ground off Drain Bank North (new faces are welcome).
