5-1 win helps Consti E hold on to Division One top spot

Consti E are holding on to top spot in Division One of the Spalding and District Snooker League, thanks to a 5-1 home win.

They beat Holbeach C with wins from Sean Jeynes (O14), Jack Chilvers (O7), George Neary-Philips (021) and Simon Law (O7).
A 27 clearance from Chilvers and a 22 break from Jeynes helped them on the way to a win.
Donington C have jumped into second place with a 5-1 win at Services A.
Lee Hempsall (O14), Mick Pearl (O21), Neil Reynolds (O56) and Ben Wrigglesworth (O35) got the wins for Donington.
Services’ Mike Knight (O21) pinched the final frame from Neil Favell (O7) to get their solitary point.
There were a number of breaks, the best of which was a 32 from Chris Dunmore (O35).
Services C moved up from seventh to fourth place after beating Bourne SC A 4-2.
Services started well with Jordan Philpott (R7) beating Mark Gray (O105), whose breaks of 59 and 20 could not help him to a win.
Bourne hit back, taking the next two courtesy of Michael Byrne (R14) and Max Ayliff (O14), before Mark Spiller (O7) and Nigel Cherry (O7) sealed the win for Services.
Clubmates Holbeach D and E clashed with the D team coming out on top.
Andy Spearman (R7), Paul Daw (O21) and Paul Boucher (O35) were the winners in a 4-2 victory.
Sutton Bridge are still to get a win this season, going down 5-1 at home to Boundary A.
Mick Tiller (scr) got the lone point for Bridge, while Pete King (scr), John Tidswell (O28), Tim Burrows (R14) and Elliott Cox (R7) won for Boundary.
Pyramid C were 4-2 winners over Consti G.
It was nip and tuck all the way with Tony Curry (O21) taking the first frame for Pyramid, before Mark Woodberry (O56) hit back for Consti.
Pyramid took the third frame, courtesy of Dave Pearson (O14), then Joe Garland (scr) made it 2-2.
The final frame was a showdown between Jason Green (O56) and Martin Deacon (O7), with Green emerging the victor, hitting breaks of 27 and 24 along the way.
Consti B are leading Division Two after a 4-2 win over Holbeach B.
John Christian (R7), Martin Fear (O7) and Steve Spencer (R21) were the winners for Consti.
Pyramid B are yet to win a match, after going down 5-1 to friendly foe Pyramid A.
Victor Rouse (R7), Michael Twell (R14), Matthew Chapman (O7) and John Twell (scr) got the wins for the A team, before Roy Jackson (R14) clawed a point back for Pyramid B.
The win puts Pyramid A in second place.
Donington A have fallen to third after losing 4-2 at home to Services D.
Winners for Services were Paul Spicer (O14), Kevin Robbs (R14) and Richard Neal (R21), while Nigel Brasier (O21) and Tony Scully (O35) got the points for Donington.
Newly-promoted Gosberton D lost again, this time away to Services B.
They have won only one game from five played.
Dan Hanger (scr) and Keith Lungley (scr) did their bit, beating Andy Neal (R7) and Fred Cummins (R7) respectively, but Services proved too strong, walking away with a 4-2 win.
Whittlesey C jumped two places to seventh after a 5-1 win at Gosberton A.
Carl Wand (O14) got Gosberton off to a good start, but it was downhill from there as Gary Thewliss (scr) (twice), Paul Cook (O14) and Simon Parker (O7) took the following four frames.
A win for Sean Swinburn (O49), with breaks of 46 and 20, was not enough to give Holbeach A victory over Consti F.
Stuart Atkin (O42) knocked in breaks of 30 and 23 to beat Warren Peel (scr) but losses for Derek Beba (R7), Steve Dent (scr) and Mathew Smith (O35) meant it was not to be for Holbeach.
In Division Three, Whittlesey B climbed to second place after beating front runners Holbeach F.
Whittlesey took the first three frames, courtesy of Andy Skutela (R14), Michael Foster (O14) and John Skutela (scr), before James Quinton (O7) and Alex Bourne (O21) got the last two for Holbeach.
Gosberton C remain in third, despite losing 4-2 at Donington D.
Jim Thompson (O7), Geoff Harris (R28) and Dan Sawby (scr) took the frames for Donington, while Chris Sibley (scr) and Mark Payne (O7) got two points for Gosberton,
Clubmates Consti I took on Consti A with the I team emerging the victors.
Johnathan Smith (R21) got the I team off to a great start, beating Paul Kent (R14), before the A team pulled two back thanks to Martyn Johnson (R21) and Peter Law (R21).
It went 2-2, thanks to David Twelves, who beat Bill Prosser (O28), 65-41 before a battle between Pete Stokes (R7) and Nigel Steadman (R7)saw Stokes take the spoils on the black ball.
