Burton bags a second race win

Paul Burton became the first repeat winner in this year’s Frostbite Series with victory in the fourth outing on Sunday.
The conditions couldn’t have been better for the Welland Yacht Club event with sunshine and a reasonable breeze for the 11 boats that took to the start line.
The short run down to the first mark saw a few calls for right of way before it became a downwind drag race.
With the two boats equipped with spinnakers, they made the most of the available wind.
However, position on the water was no guarantee of the finishing place due to handicapping.
In the middle of the fleet, the lasers of Robinson, Sauntson and Hirst were having their own battle with each trying to be the highest-placed laser.
Results: 1 Paul Burton, 2 Alan Cox and Roger Ackroyd, 3 Dave Sauntson, 4 Phil Robinson.
