Town’s title hopes in the balance after wash-out

Spalding Town’s South Lincs and Border League Premier Division title hopes remain in the balance after the entire programme was washed out today.
Town were scheduled to play their final match of the season against Stamford Town, knowing a victory was vital to maintain their championship charge.
However, the wet weather ensured that no play was possible so Town still hold a 29-point advantage over second-placed Sleaford 2nd whose match also fell to victim to the elements.
Sleaford do, however, still have two games remaining in which to overtake Town.
They face Stamford next weekend before finishing their season away at Woodhall 2nd on September 17.
