Just seven months after opening, a Spalding day nursery has scored top marks with government inspectors.
Ofsted pointed to the quality management, strong partnership with parents and children’s happiness in rating Little Oaks Childcare “outstanding”.
Delighted manager Jen Holmes said: “We are so pleased.
“The team at Little Oaks have put in a huge amount of effort, and worked incredibly hard since September, to be able to offer each child that spends their days with us the best possible experiences, and learning opportunities, and I’m happy they’ve had the recognition they deserve.
“We’ve had the privilege to meet so many new children and families, and are so grateful for all the support and positive comments and feedback.”
Ofsted could only find one area which the nursery could improve upon, suggesting the creation of a mud kitchen to improve outdoor sensory play.
Otherwise, it was a gushing report:
- “The quality of the teaching is considerable”
- “Children demonstrate a noticeably secure sense of belonging and well-being in this welcoming, enabling nursery”
- “Children listen effectively and behave exceptionally well”
- “Safeguarding at this inspiring nursery is given the utmost priority.”
Inspectors were also impressed with Little Oaks children being encouraged to use good manners and learn lessons for life such as “hands are not for hitting” and “words are not for hurting”.
The nursery is based at Fulney Hall and had 67 early years children on roll at the time of the inspection last month.
Jen added: “I’d just like to say an extra big thank-you to Kathy Holmes, Sophia Greenfield and Emily Ward for all their extra hard work and dedication behind the scenes.”
