Mixed fortunes for TRM’s Rudd racers at latest Peterborough Motocross Club outing

Four members of Team TRM took to the Chatteris track for the latest round of Peterborough Motocross Club’s championship on Sunday – but it was a mixed bag for the Holbeach lads.

Leading the way was Mark Rudd, who finished first overall in the over-35 category.

But the youngest member of the team, 11-year-old Kieran Rudd, suffered a broken elbow after coming off his bike in the small wheel 85 group.

He’s in good spirits, but will have to keep his arm in plaster for a number of weeks.

The meet was effectively round two of the series, with last month’s originally scheduled second meeting rained off.

Mark Rudd showed great form to win two of his three over-35 races, having finished second in the first one. He was the top rider overall in the category – and improved from fourth overall (two fourth places and a third) at the first meeting.

In the adult section, Ashley Rudd (17) managed fourth overall in what was his first ride in the series this season. He enjoyed finishes of third, ninth and fourth in this trio of races.

His elder brother Ryan Rudd (20) also raced for the first time in around a year – and did well to finish in the middle of the pack.

Young Kieran Rudd, who is in his first year of competition at small wheel 85 standard, managed solid finishes of tenth and ninth before his bone-breaking crash.

He had managed ninth overall at round one too, claiming finishes of tenth (twice) and fourth.

The TRM boys are back in action on June 12.
