Spalding firm’s free help for struggling Lincolnshire schools

A Spalding company which enables parents to help their children learn more effectively at home is offering its services free of charge to every struggling school in Lincolnshire.

Education Quizzes, of Wragg Marsh, supplies online multiple choice questions based on the national curriculum.
Parents can choose from thousands of quizzes compiled by qualified teachers and test their children while having fun at the same time.

The firm is making its resources available free to the 15 schools in the county with an ‘inadequate’ Ofsted rating. The package is worth £2,000 to a school with an intake of 1,000 pupils.

Managing director Colin King said the resource could make a real difference to a struggling school by complementing the work of teachers and enlisting the support of parents in learning.

Mr King, who started the business with wife Lisa four years ago, said: “We are hoping as many schools as possible take up our offer because they have nothing to lose here.
“Ofsted reports on struggling schools often state that more should be done to involve parents in the learning process.
“By using the resources on our website it is something a school can genuinely say it has been doing to get parents more involved with learning when the next Ofsted inspection is carried out.”

The firm’s website is at www.educationquizzes.com.
