£35,000 for play area in Moulton Seas End

Moulton Seas End Playscape - Plan UpdatedChildren and young people in Moulton Seas End are being encouraged to get out and play this summer thanks to a £35,000 grant.

The grant will be used to update some of the existing equipment and to buy new play equipment for the village’s play area which has become run down.

The play area will comprise a variety of multi play units, swings, springers, rockers, roundabouts and trails and there will be picnic benches and seating for families to enjoy all the facilities.

The money has been awarded to Moulton Parish Council by WREN, a not for profit business which awards grants to community, environmental and heritage projects across the country from funds donated by FCC Environment to the Landfill Communities Fund.

Moulton Seas End Playscape has also been made possible thanks to the support of many businesses and individuals who have pledged financial support to help with match funding for the project.

Coun Dave Briggs, chairman of Moulton Parish Council, said: “It is fantastic that WREN can make funds like this available to communities.

“We are delighted that our project was selected.

“We are really looking forward to delivering the new play area and hope that everyone in the community will enjoy the facilities.

“The council was also able to support a local resident in her campaign to improve the local play area and would like to thank Tracy Andrew for her time given to the application.

“The parish council looks forward to future opportunities working with local people on projects in order to benefit the community.”

Work on the new play area will start at the beginning of July and should be completed ready for the school holidays.

Peter Cox, managing director of WREN, said: “WREN is committed to funding projects that make a real difference to local communities, children and families.

“The Moulton Seas End Play Area will provide a fantastic space for local people to get outdoors and have some fun.

“We’re delighted to support Moulton Parish Council and look forward to seeing the new play area take shape over the coming months.”
