12 suspected illegal immigrants found in lorry at Pinchbeck

Police and ambulance crews were called to Pinchbeck on Wednesday afternoon to deal with 12 suspected illegal immigrants.

They were found in the trailer of a lorry loaded with apples. The vehicle had had an overnight stay in France and arrived in the country during the morning.

The immigrants are mainly adults and thought to be from the African country Eritrea. Some of them are believed to suffering from the effects of hypothermia.

A member of the public became suspicious of noises from the lorry, which was parked on an industrial estate.

Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene.
