Medal treble for Spalding Gymnastics Club’s girls at county championships

The talented youngsters from Spalding Gymnastics Club were back among the medals at the level five county championships.

Once again the standard of the event was incredibly high, with an impressive turnout from gymnastics clubs across Lincolnshire.

In the nine years age group, Spalding’s Thandine Snell finished eighth – which represented a good performance from the promising young gymnast.

Up in the 10 years category, Darcy Orford finished a creditable sixth with some good routines, but a mistake on beam proved costly.

Spalding’s first medal came in the 11 years category, with overall competition silver going to Beth McFarlane.

There were three Spalding gymnasts in the 12 years group, with Daisy Cross sixth, Daisy Cottage placing eighth and Keris Moore a further place back in ninth.

Samantha Fones won overall silver in the 13 years section to secure Spalding their second medal of the day, a feat matched by Romy Clifton in the top age category.

In the same group were Alex Osbiston and Zoe Pacey, who were fourth and sixth respectively.
